Humberto 'Beto' Estrada
Assistant Coach

Humberto 'Beto' Estrada enters his first season as a member of the Iowa Western staff after serving briefly as an assistant at Coffeyville Community College.

Prior to joining Coffeyville in January 2019, Coach Estrada served on Iowa Western Head Coach Mike Brown's staff at Barton Community College as a volunteer goalkeeping assistant from 2017-2018.  During his time with the Cougars, he was responsible for the development and tutelage of Barton goalkeeper Felipe Baeza, a 2018 NSCAA 2nd Team All American and NSCAA 1st Team Academic All American. Baeza finished tied for third in the nation with a 0.54 goals-against average in 2018.

Estrada also coordinated all travel functions for Coach Brown and Barton during their NJCAA Tournament run, which resulted in a Championship game appearance.

Coach Estrada played for the Reivers in 2012 before heading to University of the Southwest in Hobbs, New Mexico.

At the University of the Southwest, Estrada completed his Bachelor of Arts in Sports Management and Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice in May of 2017.

Estrada was a goalkeeper at both Mount Marty and University of the Southwest and a two-time NAIA Academic All-American.

Coach Estrada currently holds an NSCAA Goalkeeping Level 2 Diploma.

Coach Estrada is the Director of Goalkeeping and the assistant coach for the U15 girls select team and the U12 boys select team for Council Bluffs Soccer Club.

Coach Estrada had this to say about returning to Iowa Western, "It feels good to be back at the place where I started. I'm looking forward to helping make Iowa Western Men's Soccer a powerhouse program once again!"

Alex Trent
Assistant Coach

Alex Trent enters his first season as a coach with the Reivers, after playing at Iowa Western in 2014 and 2015 under former head coach, Jordan Carver.

As a student-athlete and Presidential scholar at Iowa Western, Trent's teams finished with a combined 40-2-6 record along with 3rd and 5th place finishes at the NJCAA national tournament.

After his playing career at IWCC, Trent transferred to Ottawa University in 2016, where he would go on to become captain and a KCAC All-Conference performer.

He spent time in the USL League Two and went on several professional trials, but repeated injuries and surgeries over his collegiate career have put his playing career on hold.

Trent was named an Academic All-American at both IWCC and Ottawa and also received various other academic honors.

Coach Trent has spent the past three years coaching at Sporting Kaw Valley soccer club in Lawrence, Kansas, as well as interning and growing in the field of sports performance.

He is currently working on a master's degree of science in health and human performance, the NSCA Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist certification, and the USSF "D" Coaching License.

Coach Trent is the Director of N.E.S.T. and coaches the U11 girls select team for Council Bluffs Soccer Club.

Coach Trent had this to say about joining the Reivers, "Iowa Western has always been home for me. I'm thankful for this opportunity to rejoin the program and again be part of the culture of excellence that is the Iowa Western Men's Soccer program."
